A Traditional Italian Wedding
with a Live Band
– MELINA & JOHN-ANTHONY
My favourite place is the one near to you
Melina, 26, and John-Anthony, 28, met while working at a supermarket when Melina was just 16 years old. “The best part of going to work for both of us was too see each other and spend time together,” said Melina, now an accountant. “He would always come to the cash to talk to me and offer me a car ride home after every shift.” Their friendship blossomed into a full romance after a year.
Eight years later, John-Anthony, by then a senior robotics developer, planned a surprise proposal. He told her they would take a casual stroll through the Botanical Gardens with friends before having dinner together.“ Standing near a beautiful pathway of flowers, it only seemed natural for our friends to ask if they could take a picture of us,” said Melina. “It was then that John-Anthony proposed while our friends took a video of the whole thing.” But the surprise would not end there. When they exited the Botanical Gardens, their entire families were waiting for them with balloons and champagne.
“John-Anthony knew I would say Yes, of course! exclaimed the bride.
For their wedding, it was important for them to incorporate Italian traditions. A 3 man band (saxophone, guitar and base) played classic Italian music from table to table until 10 PM, which was followed by a DJ. “We loved the fact that everyone danced all night long,” added John-Anthony.
