A Magical Moroccan Theme Wedding :
One Thousand & One Nights
– NISSRINE & MOUNIR –
“An awakened love between two people is a blessing on the entire world.”
— Marianne Williamson
Nissrine and Mounir first met for coffee in a park next to the university they attended. They became so enchanted with each other that they lost all track of time and ended up late for class. “By the end of that first date, we both knew we were destined for one another,” said Nissrine and Mounir.
Three years later, Mounir planned to propose by recreating their second date.
“We had dinner at Jatoba restaurant, drinks at Furco and then took a stroll on Saint Catherine Street to St James United Church,” said Mounir. “Surrounded by the spectacular illumination within the church, I told Nissrine she was the woman of my dreams and that I wanted to start a family with her. I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me.”
Nissrine and Mouinir envisioned bringing their Quebec and Moroccan backgrounds together and opted for A Thousand and One Nights wedding theme. “We incorporated various elements of a typical Moroccan wedding from the richly coloured costumes, Henna tattoos to delicious Middle Eastern cuisine,” said Nissrine. “We wanted to add fun and a festive flare to our celebration and still pay homage to our heritage.”
