A Fun Black & White
Timeless Wedding
– DARIA & PHIL
If it’s right, it happens
Phil asked Daria out on a first date soon after they met at work. “We started with drinks at a Crescent Street bar, then proceeded to the Old Port where we rented BIXI bicycles and ending up watching funny videos at my place at 2:00 AM,” laughed the bride. “It was the most fun I had ever had on a date.”
Their instant relationship quickly grew serious. They had discussed marriage, but Phil wanted to formalize it with a proposal. But he took a casual approach. “I made Daria her favourite breakfast and while still in our pajamas, I got down on one knee and popped the question,” said Phil.
“ I was so nervous though, that I opened the ring box upside down.”
The couple wanted a classy and timeless look for their big day. “We incorporated some modern elements but tried to keep true to our black and white colour scheme with gold accents,” said Daria. “Our favourite touches were probably the less conventional black bridesmaid dresses, black candelabras on select tables and the smoke marble patterned wedding cake with geometric shapes.” A relaxed fun vibe kindled by great music and great food, brought the couple’s vision to life. “We set the mood from the start with a live jazz band during cocktails and a DJ that incited our guests to hit the dance floor and stay there all night long,” said Phil. “Everything was so well planned ahead of time, that we were not stressed and could really enjoy our special day.”
